Arts and Crafts - 18th February 2022

Spontaneous: This morning for an activity I went to my resource cupboard and found some stampers and some body felt people that also had clothing for children to stick onto. Educators set up two table areas one for the stamper and the other for the body stick on. The children chose the table of their choice and sat themselves down to enjoy the craft. In this experience I found each child were engaging well with their peers, they used their turn takings skills well. I noticed the children handed over the stampers to their peers to change to the colour of their choice which was wonderful to see. We find that the arts and crafts give the children the freedom to use their imagination to create, without having an end product in mind.

Interpretation

Critical Reflection: I encouraged the children this morning to take part in the experience and provided the material for them to explore. The children loved the experience using the stampers to the best of their ability. The children were able to use their turn taking capability as they shared the stamps with their peers. Follow up: To continue using different types of materials for craft activities.
