Book Week Celebrations (Day 4) - 25th August 2022
Planned Event: As we are celebrating book week the children were asked to come dressed as their favourite characters or themes from a book or movie. Today the children in Joeys room dressed up differently. They all looked lovely. Hunter - Super Man Elya - Moana Pilar - Wonder woman Mila - Mermaid Elijah - Lakers Basketball team Tilly - Mirabel from Encounto Movie Gabby - Elsa from Frozen II Ezekaiah - Buzz from Toy Story Educators - Sandra and Kavitha dressed up as wonder Woman. Kylie dressed up as Batman. During group time Massa (educator) found some animal pictures and asked children some questions to guess which animals were which. She showed the pictures to them and the children named the animals. The children were curious and excited in naming the animals. After group time the children washed their hands and had lunch together.

Outcomes: 5: Children are effective communicators Elements: 5.1 Children interact verbally and non-verbally with others for a range of purposes. The children in this learning experience were able to name the animals on seeing the pictures. They also made the sounds of the animals.
Theorists
This learning experience can be linked to Rogoff's theories. She believes that adults have a role in guiding children's learning and that language is important for children's learning.
Interpretation
Critical Reflection: The children and educators were enjoying book week by dressing up in their favourite characters. In the morning the children and educators were curious to see each others dress up. The educators help children to keep up their dress up throughout the day. the educators also encourage children to participate during group times. Follow Up: Continue with book week activities.
