Christmas Decorations - 3rd December 2021

Spontaneous:

This morning the children were playing outdoors exploring their learning environments. Sandra found some Christmas decorations in our craft cupboard and thought it would be a great idea to set up an activity for the children to participate in. Sandra set up the outdoor table with the decorations, glitter, sequins and glue. A few children come over to investigate what was on the craft table. Sandra supported the children to sit down and demonstrated what to do. Jenayah and Nevaeh were very excited to have the first turn and Pilar was too. The girls picked up their decoration and put lots of glue on and than pushed it into the bowl of glitter. The girls also had lots of fun decorating them with the sequins. Next to come over and have a turn was Daniel and Sandra encouraged Lucas to come have a turn, he was happy to come sit down next to Daniel and join in. Daniel was using his fine motor skills to brush the glue on to the glitter. Lucas was so excited when he saw his decoration completed after dipping into the glitter bowl. Lucas looked at Sandra and said "WOOW!". Mun and Marlee were next and they also enjoyed decorating with the glitter and sequins. Marlee was using her grasping skills by indivually picking up the sequins to stick on. Huda came over and was standing at the table watching the children. Sandra encouraged Huda and Hunter to come have a turn they were both very eager as they have been waiting and observing the children. They both loved using the glitter and continued to keep adding more glitter. Last to participate was Elijah and Aarvi, they both had some assistance in what to do, they enjoyed making their decoration. Aarvi helped Sandra place them inside to dry.
