Crazy hair day and outdoor fun - 28th October 2021
Updated: Nov 4, 2021
Today we celebrated Crazy hair day at Koala Corner. The children were very excited to show their crazy hairstyles to their peers and educators. The children also participated in a variety of activities in our yard. At our Joey craft table I had set up painting for the children, Pilar and Nyiel were first to come over and participated in this activity. Pilar loved using all the colours in her painting and continued to do a few pictures while sitting at the table. Nyiel enjoyed painting on her piece of paper so much that it got too wet so we explained to use more paper. Our younger Joeys needed a little assistance in this activity I supported Elya, Hunter and Jack with dipping the brush in the water and helping them paint. The children continued to this activity until it was time to pack way for lunch.
Over in the Possum yard the children were engaging in a variety of activities such as sand play with the shovels in the trough. The children were using the shovels to scoop up the sand and pour it into the trough. They were talking amongst themselves about filling it up to the very top. Down at the bottom of the yard Atavia and Grace were playing together on the sea saw. The girl were having fun and giggling together as they were going up and down. Over on the grass Massa (educator) had set up the water trough with blue coloured water for the children to explore with measuring cups. Garang showed a huge interest in this activity. Emilia and Novia also were engaged in this activity with taking turns using the measuring cups. This activity went really well the children were at the trough through out the whole morning until it was transition time for lunch.
