Easter at Koala Corner - 13th April 2022
Planned Event: Today at Koala Corner we celebrated Easter. We started with decorating some Bunny ears with children that did not have a hat and then we took photos of the children in their Easter hats. After we had finished with the photos we all lined up and the possum children partnered up with a Joey child and they all lined up for our Easter hat Parade. The children all could not wait to get started and were super eager to show their hats off. The children went for a walk around the bike track and then back up to the top were we finished the hat parade with some dancing. After the dancing we had an Easter egg hunt and we sat the children down and explained what we were about to do. Daphne asked " If the eggs were Gluten Free" The educators replied" Yes Daphne they are not real ones they are plastic". So again we partnered the possums up with the Joey children and went to line up at the gate. The children could not wait when we opened the gate the children went through to find the Easter eggs. Daphne, Grace, Novia, Rudra, Pilar, Hunter, Nathan, Tevita, Nyiel, James, Lucas, Aarvi, Allure, Elijah, Hunter, Elya, came up to show the educators when they found an Easter egg. Jayden, Kavith, Matthias, Sean, Abuk needed some encouragement and help from educators to find the Easter eggs. When we had finished the Easter egg hunt the children went and had lunch and then after lunch we had a visit from the Easter Bunny when the Easter Bunny went out to the playground some of the children were super excited to see the Easter bunny and came straight up to the Easter Bunny. It included Hunter, Grace, Novia and Nyiel. We got all the children to sit down and the Easter Bunny sat on a chair and Hunter had no hesitations he came staright up to the Easter bunny and sat on the bunnies Lap. Each of the children took a turn at getting to meet the Easter Bunny some children were very hesitant. Elya and Elliot came up with an Educator to meet the bunny and Elliot patted the Easter Bunny and Elya just looked. Grace, Picco, Novia, Allure and Jayden all went up and sat on the Easter Bunny's Lap or stood in front of the bunny. Other children sat far away from the Easter bunny and looked on and others did not want to look at the Easter bunny at all and went down to the bottom playground and sat with Sandra. When it was time for the Easter Bunny to go the children waved goodbye and they went off to play. Sandra got out some games for the children to play which included the egg and spoon race and toss a bean bag through the Easter Bunny's mouth.
