Outdoor fun activities - 26th April 2022
Spontaneous: This morning the children were playing in Possums yard. The Joeys were excited to explore the Possum yard and were happy to engage themselves in various free play activities of their choice. Pilar, Elya, Kavith and Marlee were happy to play in the sandpit. Marlee filled a red bucket with sand. When I asked her what she was making Marlee replied "cake for Mummy". Elya filled a blue cup with sand and when I asked her what she was doing she smiled and offered me the cup with sand. I pretended to drink from the cup and said "yummy, thanks Elya". Kavith was busy filling an ice tray with sand and Pilar tried to remove the sand from a big silver bowl. The children in the sandpit were busy and I moved on from the sandpit to the red mat. Abuk, Elliot and Nevaeh were playing with the Lego, sitting next to each other. Elijah as always busy solving the puzzles. On another table Kylie (educator) was involving children in making Mother's day gift using clay. Children took turns in that activity. Jenayah, Nevaeh, Hunter and Lucas waited for their turns and followed the instruction in making their Mother's day gift using white clay. The children had busy morning exploring their own ideas and engaging in different activities.

Interpretation
Critical Reflection: I observed children and had positive conversation with them. Kylie helped children in making Mother's day gift. She involved children in the activity through simple instructions so that children were able to follow those instructions and complete the activity. She also helped children in taking turns and sharing resources. Follow Up: More free play activities.
