Truck Play - 19th August 2022
Spontaneous: This morning we spent some time inside playing Nathan and Hunter chose to play with the trucks. They both went to the truck shelf and selected a truck they wanted to play with, then sat down on the mat and started to push their trucks around . During their play Elya, Tilly and Lucas went over to get a truck and then took it back to the mat and sat down and started to play with the trucks. Jayden went and got the boat and took it back to the mat and she sat down on the mat alongside the other children and played with the boat. I asked Hunter "what sort of truck did he have" he responded by looking and I said " you have a digger' hunter repeated " Digger'. Nathan said "truck" as he was pushing it along the ground. As the children were playing Jack came over and joined in the truck play he went over to where the trucks were and started to play with a tipper truck. He was lifting the tipper up and down. Lucas had picked up a fire engine and he was asked what sound does a fire engine make and the children looked at me and I made a fire engine sound and the children copied me. After Lucas had finished playing with the fire engine he moved on to a digger and started the move the arm of the digger up and down. As he was doing this Lucas was trying to scoop the lego up in the bucket.

Service Philosophy
We value children's rights and choicesWe provide hands on learning opportunities where children can explore, experiment and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the world we live in. We value flexible, open ended learning environments
Interpretation
Critical reflection:The educators were able to offer an open ended experience where the children were able to choose how they wanted to play with their trucks. It was a great opportunity to do some intentional teaching and explain what noise a fire engine make. It was a great social experience for the children as they were able to play and interact with one another. Critical Reflection Set up a small world truck area
